Peerless!!!!

With a clinical win over the in-form Chilean Fernando "Speedy" Gonzalez, Roger "King" Federer has once again underlined the fact that among his peers no one , as yet, is in a position to question his authority in the men's singles circuit. Roger's straight sets victory can easily make one forget the absolutely flawless tennis show put up by Gonzalez over the past 14 days, his effortless and fluent wins over some of the hardest fighters like Lleyton Hewitt and Rafael Nadal. However, the superb form and never-so-before sound temperament ( yes, Gonzalez is famous in the circuit for this fluctuating temper.) of Gonzalez coupled with the scratchy display put up by Roger in the first set, really, for a second , raised the hopes of an upset. After the brutal annihilation of Andy Roddick on Thursday, I think , Roger had touched the peak of his game. He was not as fluent as against Roddick in the final and even made mistakes with his favourite forehand strokes. With a break of Federer serve and two set points Gonzalez was all set to win the first set and thereby set the tone of the match. And exactly here Roger stepped up his game. Gonzalez couldn't convert those set points and once Roger arrested the momentum there was no stopping him. Clearly he wasn't playing his best tennis but it was enough for Gonzalez as Roger gained decisive breaks in the next two sets and in the process won his 10th Grand Slam title.
Why I am referring Roger as "Peerless" is because of the fact that not even a single player(barring Nadal..that too, only on clay) from the current lot is able to make him play on his weakpoints. It was evident yesterday that even an in-form Gonzalez couldn't make him play on his backhand side ,which is supposed to be his less favoured side. In an post-match interview Gonzalez claimed that Roger can be beaten. Well that may be true, but right now no one seems to be capable of stopping the jaggernaut of the "King",Roger Federer.

Just watch the video below and one will realise why he is touted as best of all times.Enjoy!!!!!

he is great.. no doubt but the way he is ruling the mens singles arena over the last few seasons gives you an idea of the lack of fighting spirit among the other players.
I think his extended dominance has had such an impact over the mindset of THE REST that they loose the game well before the start.
any ways, thats not rogers fault.
He rules and will continue for ever. The reason I dont follow the game ny more is that it has become so predictable these days.

sure Roger is "peerless" but then others have gone "blunt"..
